At the beginning of August, when the pandemic had eased up a bit, I set out on what felt like a mission, a one-month road trip through the Alps. I was still living in Germany at the time, and I hit the road with my friend, ready for mountains, landscapes, and whatever surprises the journey had in store.
Our first stop was Neuschwanstein Castle... probably one of the most photogenic castles in the Alps, and definitely high on my photography list. I had seen so many shots of it over the years, with perfect light and dreamy mist, and I was excited to finally take my own.
But of course, the weather didn’t exactly cooperate. The sky was overcast, the light flat, and the whole scene didn’t have that magic I had imagined. Still, there I was, standing in front of this fairytale castle I’d dreamed of photographing, camera in hand.
It wasn’t the perfect shot, but it was my attempt. It was the beginning of something, a new chapter, and I was happy to be on the road again.
