From Beijing, I took a short two-day trip to see the iconic Great Wall of China. What made it even more unforgettable was that I wasn’t alone. A friend from Europe, who happened to be in Beijing studying at the time, and who was also a dancer, joined me on the adventure.
We went up first for sunset, watching the Wall stretch endlessly under the warm, golden light. The next morning, we returned before dawn and made it in time for sunrise, just as the first light brushed over the hills and ancient stone. And there, in that surreal silence above the world, we recorded a video of us dancing.. Brazilian Zouk on the Great Wall.
Another reason I chose that time of year was to see the autumn colors.. The trees around the Wall were painted in deep reds, oranges, and golds. It felt like walking through a living painting, where history and nature came together in the softest, most stunning way.
