And this is how..Interrail pass took me to the slopes of the highest Alps

Chamonix had been on my places-to-see list for years, and during my solo Interrail trip through Europe, I finally made it there. I was so excited to see the Mont Blanc Massif up close, Chamonix being the closest village to it felt like stepping into a postcard.

I arrived on the 1st of December, only to find out that almost everything was closed. It was Sunday, and the winter installations were under verification, so the cable cars and shops weren’t running. Despite that, I decided to make the most of it. I went for a hike toward a viewpoint overlooking a lake and the Massif, soaking in the crisp mountain air and peaceful atmosphere.

Though I didn’t make it to the top since I had another train to catch, I was happy just to be there. The only thing missing was the snow; I had hoped for more snowy peaks, but winter hadn’t arrived fully yet. Still, standing there surrounded by the majestic silence of the Alps felt magical in its own quiet way.
