Because my plans shifted due to COVID, I headed south to Vientiane, hoping to cross into Cambodia from there. I only spent two days in the city, just enough time to visit a few of its famous temples. The city felt bigger, noisier, and more chaotic than the calm I had experienced up north.
I was feeling a bit uneasy walking through some parts of the city... especially after the calm and peace I’d experienced in Luang Prabang. It was a brief stop, shaped more by uncertainty than exploration, but one that marked the beginning of the changes the world was about to face.
