We were in a rush when we arrived at Perito Moreno Glacier. We had to return the rental car soon, so there wasn’t much time to linger. I went with no expectations...I had heard it was very touristic, and I thought it might feel too crowded or overhyped for me to truly enjoy.
But the moment I saw it, I was amazed.
This massive wall of ice rising from the water, shimmering in shades of white and blue… it was breathtaking. I found myself drawn to the tiny details... the textures, the layers.
Even though our visit was short, it felt like it was so worth it. What I thought would be a quick stop turned into a moment of real awe... and reflection.
As I looked at this glacier, so powerful and fragile at the same time, I couldn’t help but think about how fast glaciers are melting, how much we’ve already lost, and how urgent it is to protect what’s left.
That quiet sadness stayed with me... mixed with wonder. And throughout the rest of my South America trip, that feeling only grew: a stronger awareness of the planet, of its beauty, and of how much it needs us to care. 🌍💙
