Winter in Valea Sambetei in Fagaras Mountains
The weekend we spent at Valea Sâmbetei felt like stepping into a snow globe. The kind where everything is still and sparkling, and you can’t help but feel like you’re part of something quietly magical.
Daniel and I, together back then, hiked up Valea Sâmbetei with Geena, our dog, bouncing ahead through the snowdrifts like it was her personal playground. The Făgăraș Mountains stretched around us, glowing in the sunlight, silent and breathtaking.
There’s something magical about bringing a dog on winter hikes. Watching Geena walk in the snow, ears flopping, tongue out, gave me so many moments to capture with my camera—pure joy framed in white.
We spent the night at Cabana Sâmbetei, quiet and tucked beneath the stars. It was silent, peaceful—just us, and the mountain breathing slowly around us.
It was cold, beautiful, and fleeting...a small slice of winter magic I still carry with me.
