Rio Zouk Congress 2024

Rio Zouk Congress, the third edition I attended, was by far the most special one for me. By this time, I had been living in Rio for a while, and my connection to the city and the dance scene had grown deeper. What made this edition even more unforgettable was the fact that I was a student at Renata Pecanha’s school. This not only allowed me to immerse myself more in the local Zouk community, but it also gave me the incredible opportunity to be part of a choreography with her dancers.

Being on stage, dancing alongside Renata’s team, was honestly a dream come true. I could hardly believe it as I took my place on the stage, surrounded by such talented dancers, representing the school that had been a part of my journey. The excitement, the emotions—it was everything I had hoped for and more. The sheer joy of being able to perform in front of a crowd and feel so connected to the energy of the event was overwhelming. It wasn’t just about the choreography or the performance; it was about feeling like I truly belonged, and that was a moment I will always cherish.

I couldn’t help but be emotional during the performance, knowing that this was a milestone in my dance journey. To be part of Renata’s team, to feel that connection with the school and the community, was a moment I will carry with me forever. The experience filled me with gratitude, pride, and excitement for everything yet to come in my journey.
