I made my way next to Baños... mainly because I really wanted to try that one thing I’d read about: the swing at the end of the world.
And it did not disappoint. The view was breathtaking, the swing felt wild… and I actually got lucky. At the top, I met two guys who were taking turns swinging and snapping photos of each other. They kindly offered to help me out and one pushed the swing, the other took pictures.
What I didn’t expect was how intense it would feel. The way the guy pushed me sent me flying way out over the edge, and for a moment it was just me, hanging above that steep drop, with nothing but air and adrenaline. It was both terrifying and exhilarating...and absolutely worth it.
After that, I continued on to Tena, right on the edge of the Amazon rainforest.
The thick humidity, the deep green jungle, the feeling of being surrounded by life in every direction... it just felt right. I realized how much I love that dense, warm atmosphere. The way the air clings to your skin, how everything feels alive and vibrant.
