I took a one-day trip to Cotopaxi, and it turned out to be a really special experience. The volcano itself was impressive and powerful, with its snow-capped peak standing tall against the sky.
Our guide made the day even more enjoyable. He was fun, full of energy, and kept the atmosphere light with his jokes and stories.
We also visited a museum right near Cotopaxi, where I learned a lot about Ecuador’s volcanoes. I had no idea how many there are... or that Cotopaxi is considered one of the most dangerous. But despite its reputation, I found it absolutely fascinating.
Standing there, looking up at this towering volcano, still capped with a glacier, it felt surreal. To see something so powerful and unpredictable, yet so still and beautiful in that moment.
