I visited Lisbon for the first time right before Christmas, and I was so excited to finally be in Portugal. The city had a festive vibe, with lights hanging across the streets and a warm energy, even though it was winter. Everything felt new, colorful, and alive.
I had a bit of bad luck navigating the city, though. I took the metro in the wrong direction, not once, but twice, while trying to reach the statue near the big red bridge. When I finally arrived, it was totally worth the effort. The view was surreal, and the whole place felt like a mix of other worlds.
The bridge reminded me of the one in San Francisco, and the statue instantly made me think of Rio de Janeiro. It was interesting standing in Lisbon, looking at symbols of two other places I dream of visiting. It felt like a little glimpse into the future, wrapped in the charm of a city I was just getting to know.
