Celebrating New Year's in Germany

I celebrated New Year’s Eve in Germany at a Zouk Festival organized by friends, and it was such a fun and energetic way to start the year. Between dancing, meeting people, and enjoying the event, I also had a bit of time to explore Erfurt, a city I hadn’t seen before. The old town had a lovely charm, with cobbled streets, cozy cafés, and a relaxed winter atmosphere.

One morning, after returning from the event just before sunrise, I took a quiet walk through the streets. That’s when I stumbled across something that made me light up with joy... a statue of Tabaluga. It caught me by surprise, and I couldn’t believe it.

Tabaluga had been one of my absolute favorite cartoons growing up, and seeing that little green dragon standing there in Erfurt felt like reconnecting with a sweet piece of childhood. I stood there for a while, taking photos, and just soaking in the feeling.

That mix of festival celebration and quiet nostalgia made my New Year’s in Erfurt truly special.
