Winter had completely taken over the Ciucaș Mountains when I went up for a short two-day trip. The cold was sharp, dropping to minus 20-25 degrees, and the wind howled the entire time, pushing snow in every direction. A constant blizzard blurred the landscape, making everything feel distant and quiet.
I managed a short hike, just two or three hours, but it was enough to capture what I was hoping for. My camera was freezing, the batteries were draining fast, and I had to move quickly. Still, I found what I came for: silhouettes of trees fading into fog, snow sweeping across the slopes, and that strange, beautiful atmosphere that only winter storms can create.
