I went to Piatra‑Neamț at two photographer friends who live there, on a mission to capture winter’s mood in the mountains. We stopped frequently along the roadside near the city, framing the trees cloaked in frost and snow, each shot telling its own quiet story of cold. Then we headed into a nearby forest, one my friends are actively working to protect, a beech forest on mountain Cozla, hoping it will gain official conservation status. It’s a stunning place, with towering trunks and a peaceful hush that feels sacred when covered in snow.
Inside that forest, fog curled between the trees as snow drifted gently through the branches, creating a delicate, dream‑like scene. We stood in silence as we photographed the soft grey light and intricate patterns the snow made against the dark bark. That morning, the forest felt timeless...each breath was cold and clear, and every image captured a fragile moment of winter’s beauty.
