Fascinated by this city and its world's highest cable car
I made it to La Paz by bus, but I only had one full day to explore. Luckily, my host gave me a great tip: “Take the cable car and just see the city from above.” 🚡
So I did exactly that. And I’m so glad I listened.
I spent the evening riding the Teleférico, soaring over this massive, layered city tucked into the mountains. Seeing La Paz from above, especially at sunset, was something else...the light washed the entire valley in gold and orange, and the streets below looked calm and dreamy from up there.
I even made it over to El Alto, the city next to La Paz, using the cable car system. It was surreal to glide between two cities in the sky, with the Andes on the horizon and everything glowing under the setting sun.
