Next, I finally made it to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), one of those places I’d seen in photos for years and always was curious of visiting.
I stayed not too far from the trailhead and rented a taxi that waited for me while I did the hike. It felt like such a personal little mission...just me, the mountain, and a driver waiting patiently at the base.
The hike itself was beautiful and honestly kind of cute...colorful hills, soft light, and llamas grazing along the way. The altitude made it a bit tough, but I took my time and soaked in every step.
When I finally reached the viewpoint and saw those striped mountains laid out in front of me, I couldn’t stop smiling. It was just as magical as I’d hoped.
