Uyuni Salt Flat

Bolivia
3rd-7th May 2024

We lived some eternal moments that day...

After all the wild roads and altitude shifts, we made our way to Uyuni, this time by bus from Calama, Chile.

We had planned just a one-day tour of the Salar de Uyuni, and yet, it turned out to be one of the most unforgettable days of my life.

We arrived between the rainy and dry seasons, which meant we got the best of both worlds. Because of the recent rains, parts of the salt flat were covered in a thin layer of water, creating those legendary mirror reflections. The sky, the clouds, even ourselves... it all looked like it was floating.

It felt like stepping onto another planet. The stillness, the silence, the endless white stretching in every direction.

We also stayed into the evening, which turned out to be just as special. When the sun disappeared, the sky transformed into a canvas of stars... the clearest night sky I’ve ever seen. We spent a few hours out there, our feet freezing in the water, taking photos of the stars, trying to capture even a glimpse of what it felt like to be standing in the middle of infinity.

Uyuni wasn’t just beautiful... it's a place that doesn’t seem real until you’re there, feet in the water, eyes wide open, wondering how such a thing exists on this Earth.
