In June, I finally visited Zermatt with two friends of mine, and it was a dream come true. I had always wanted to see the Matterhorn up close, and being there in person felt surreal. The mountain looked just as majestic as I had imagined, standing tall and silent above the alpine landscape.
To catch the sunrise, we planned a night hike... my first one ever. We started around 1 a.m. and hiked for nearly four hours through the stillness of the night. At one point, we paused so I could take some photos of the stars. The sky was clear, the air was crisp, and there was something magical about walking through the dark with only the sound of our footsteps and the stars above us.
We reached Lake Stellisee just before 5 a.m., right on time. As the first light touched the Matterhorn and its reflection appeared in the glassy water, I felt completely in awe. I captured as much as I could — the golden light, the reflection, and even a few special shots of my friends at the lake, standing together in that peaceful, glowing moment.
Even though we were tired, the rest of the day was filled with a calm kind of joy. We wandered around, shared snacks and stories, and quietly soaked in the beauty all around us. That night hike, the stars, the sunrise, and those photos by the lake, it’s a memory I’ll always carry with me.
