Crossing Morocco – Day One: Tinghir and Kerrandou

After the first day in Marrakech, me and my best friend booked a three-day tour to explore more of Morocco. On the first day, we left the busy streets behind and started heading toward the Atlas Mountains. The landscape quickly changed from crowded markets and city noise to wide open roads, mountains, and desert views.

Our first main stop was Tinghir, a small town surrounded by palm groves and known for the impressive Todgha Gorge nearby. The tall canyon walls were really something to see, and we walked for a bit through the narrow path with rock rising up on both sides. It felt peaceful after the buzz of Marrakech, and the contrast between the green valley and dry cliffs was beautiful.

Later we arrived in Kerrandou, a small village not many people talk about, but it had its own charm. It felt like a quiet, authentic corner of Morocco, with simple houses and dusty roads. That first day gave us a whole new view of Morocco, and it made us excited to see what was coming next.
