I arrived in Budapest for a Brazilian Zouk event, excited as always to dance and reconnect with the community. But outside of the workshops and social nights, I found myself with a bit of free time—and a city full of charm waiting to be rediscovered.
It was springtime in Budapest, one of the most beautiful moments to be there. The trees were blossoming in shades of white and pink, and the whole city seemed to hum with a soft, blooming energy. Alongside two friends, I wandered through streets both familiar and new, camera in hand, drawn to the golden light reflecting on the Danube, the quiet courtyards tucked behind old buildings, and the dramatic architecture that makes Budapest feel both grand and intimate at the same time.
I had visited this city once before, five years earlier, with someone special. As we passed landmarks like the Chain Bridge and Fisherman’s Bastion, little flashes of memory came back.
This time was different. There was the laughter of friends, the hum of music waiting for us back at the venue, the joy of capturing small beautiful details through my lens. The city still held its magic, but it felt like it was revealing a different side, one that belonged to this version of me—curious, inspired, and simply happy to be exploring.
