Jamie Aroxa’s teachers course was an incredible experience—one that left a strong impression on me. Attending masterclasses from such a legendary figure in the Brazilian dance world felt like a privilege. His deep passion for dance, and especially for Brazilian styles, was contagious and inspiring.
It wasn’t easy for me, though. The whole course was in Portuguese, and at the time, I wasn’t yet comfortable with the language. It was definitely a challenge to follow everything, but I still absorbed so much just by watching, listening, and feeling the energy in the room.
Despite the language barrier, the impact was deep. Seeing Jamie’s dedication, the history behind the movements, and the respect for the culture gave me a whole new appreciation for the Brazilian dance world.
