Summer in NYC
That summer, I finally made it to New York City for a month, something I had been looking forward to for a long time. And it was incredible. The city was everything I imagined and more, especially through my camera. It was a photogenic dream... light, shadows, buildings, faces, and endless motion.
I stayed in Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan through Couchsurfing, and each place gave me a different view of the city. I met interesting people, shared stories, and felt the rhythm of daily life in every borough. I even stayed a few days in Jersey City.
Although I didn’t stay in New York the whole time, I used it as my base while traveling to different Brazilian Zouk events as a photographer. I’d go, shoot, and always come back to the city. Each return felt familiar, like New York was holding space for me.
What I remember most are the visual moments... rooftop sunsets, rainy streets, glowing subways, and that buzz that never stops. It felt like living in the middle of something alive.
