After our visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, we kept driving deeper into the Alps. Our first night on the road brought us to a small village called Scharnitz, right at the border between Germany and Austria. It was quiet, surrounded by mountains, and felt like the perfect place to settle in after a long day of driving.
That afternoon, we went for a hike along the Isar River. The water was crystal clear, with that cold alpine blue, and the landscape around us looked like something out of a postcard... jagged peaks, forests, and the kind of silence that only exists in the mountains.
It was the kind of start I had hoped for on this trip. Peaceful, grounded, and surrounded by beauty.
