Brasil Samba Congress was a completely different experience for me — one that touched me deeply and almost brought tears to my eyes. The energy there was something else entirely. I remember watching these incredibly passionate girls dancing samba no pé with so much fire, grace, and emotion… and then hearing them speak about their love for dance in such an honest, heartfelt way. For many of them, samba had been a way of expression and freedom throughout the years — a personal language through which they found strength, joy, and identity. It gave me goosebumps.
Samba no pé was definitely one of the craziest and hardest things I’ve ever tried on the dance floor — so fast, so intricate, and full of personality. But I didn’t give up. I paid close attention, tried my best to follow every detail, and recorded a lot so I could keep learning. Even if my feet were struggling, my heart was completely in it.
Samba de Gafieira, on the other hand, started to pull me in more and more. There was something about its flow, elegance, and connection that made me want to dive deeper. This congress wasn’t just an event — it was a powerful reminder of how rich, soulful, and moving Brazilian dance culture truly is.
